AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 13, 2009 —Johnston & Murphy has opened the first Johnston & Murphy Factory Store in Michigan at Great Lakes Crossing.

With a reputation for classic styling and superior workmanship, the Johnston & Murphy name has become synonymous with quality upscale shoes and apparel for men. For more than 150 years, skilled craftsmen have created the finest in traditional designs and have, in recent years, expanded their lines and infused them with a modern elegance and energy. At the Johnston & Murphy Factory Store, shoppers will find affordable quality in the expansive selection of shoes, luggage and small leather goods, as well as shirts, sweaters and outerwear in the season’s newest colors and textures.

Opening its first store within a mall later this month is the locally owned Beadz ‘N Bagz, specializing in Pandora Jewelry, women’s handbags and accessories. Featuring the first Pandora Jewelry “Shop In Shop” in the region, Beadz ‘N Bagz is the Midwest’s largest retailer for Pandora, the popular Danish brand of handmade jewelry. The large and ever-changing array of jewelry and fashionable handbags makes for a fun and affordable shopping excursion.

And coming this summer is another fresh offering for Great Lakes Crossing: Papaya, a contemporary, upscale shopping environment for fashion-savvy juniors, will open its first store in Michigan. Popular in 14 states and three countries, Papaya stocks its shelves with fashions direct from the manufacturers and passes the savings on to customers via everyday prices. The Great Lakes Crossing store will offer a vast selection of the latest trends in dressy and casual clothes, shoes and accessories.

“Great Lakes Crossing is known for many ‘firsts,’” says marketing & sponsorship director Melissa Morang. “These new stores are great additions to our unique mix of shopping, dining and entertainment options.”
